FEP - Teflon® Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene
Teflon® FEP (fluorinatedethylenepropylene) was the first melt-processible fluoropolymer to be extruded or injection molded. It has a maximum continuous-use temperature of 204°C (400°F) and low temperature toughness.
FEP can be fabricated into parts that exhibit an excellent combination of mechanical and electrical properties, chemical inertness, flexibility, low coefficient of friction, low flammability, and low moisture absorption. This combination of properties makes FEP a preferred product in applications such as: fittings, valves, pump linings, wafer carriers, and cryogenic services. FEP's relative cost factor versus PTFE is approximately 1.8 to 1
